The Mathematical Elite of India

PROMYS India, hosted at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, is the sister program to the legendary Boston University math camp. It is a 6-week residential program designed to immerse gifted students in the creative, rigorous world of pure mathematics.

Unlike the IOQM or JEE Advanced, which focus on computational speed and multiple-choice trickery, PROMYS focuses on Deep Exploration. Students spend their days working through highly complex problem sets, guided by counselors (undergraduates from top global universities) and faculty. Acceptance into PROMYS places a student in the top fraction of a percent of mathematical talent in the country and serves as a massive catalyst for admissions into CMI, ISI, MIT, Harvard, and Oxford.

The Application Mastery Strategy

We do not solve the application for you. We provide the university-level theoretical background and proof-writing frameworks required for you to solve it yourself with undeniable elegance.

Module 1: The Proof-Writing Standard

PROMYS rejects students who just write down the final numerical answer. We teach you how to write formal mathematical proofs (Proof by Induction, Proof by Contradiction, Direct Proof, and Pigeonhole Logic) using proper LaTeX formatting and collegiate mathematical vocabulary.

Module 2: Deep Number Theory

The absolute bedrock of the PROMYS problem set. We train students extensively in Modular arithmetic, Diophantine equations, Fermat’s Little Theorem, Euler's Totient, quadratic residues, and continued fractions. You will learn to manipulate primes like variables.

Module 3: Pattern Generalization & Hypothesis Testing

The core of the application involves finding a pattern in small numbers ($N=1, 2, 3$), making a mathematical conjecture, testing it, and then writing a rigorous theorem to generalize it for $N=\infty$. We teach the cognitive framework for this exact scientific method.

Module 4: The Mathematical Narrative
