Why School Mathematics is Insufficient for the AMC 10
For high-achieving students in the USA, India, Singapore, and beyond, the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 10 serves as the critical gateway to prestigious platforms like the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) and ultimately, the USAMO. However, standard school curricula—even accelerated honors or AP Calculus pathways—rarely cover the non-routine, creative problem-solving paradigms required to excel on this exam.
To bridge this gap, structured, strategic preparation is non-negotiable. That is where Edu Global Institute steps in, offering specialized, highly targeted AMC 10 prep classes designed to transform raw mathematical talent into systematic competitive execution.
""The AMC 10 does not test what you can memorize; it tests how you think when you encounter a problem you have never seen before.""
Our Comprehensive AMC 10 Curriculum Framework
At Edu Global Institute, our curriculum has been meticulously engineered by decoding over 20 years of past AMC 10 papers and 500+ unique problems. We categorize our training into four core mathematical pillars:
- Advanced Algebra: Sequences and series, polynomials, complex systems of equations, and inequalities that go far beyond standard high school algebra.
- Olympiad Geometry: Power of a point, cyclic quadrilaterals, coordinate geometry shortcuts, and advanced trigonometry applications.
- Number Theory: Modular arithmetic, prime factorization properties, Chinese Remainder Theorem, and Diophantine equations.
- Combinatorics & Probability: Advanced counting techniques, bijections, recursion, expected value, and geometric probability.
The Edu Global Institute Advantage: How We Teach
Unlike generic tutoring services, our AMC 10 online courses focus heavily on mathematical maturity and strategy. We don't just show students how to solve a problem; we teach them how to identify the most efficient path to the solution under strict exam conditions.
Interactive Live Sessions and Small Groups
We maintain highly interactive, small-group environments. This allows our expert instructors to analyze each student's unique cognitive blockages, providing real-time feedback on their mathematical proofs and scratchwork.
Rigorous Mock Exams and Detailed Analytics
Success on the AMC 10 requires managing 25 complex questions in a tight 75-minute window. Edu Global Institute provides students with realistic, timed mock exams followed by deep-dive video solutions and personalized performance analytics to pinpoint conceptual weaknesses.
Global Classrooms for Global Minds
Whether you are studying from the USA, India, the UK, UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, or Australia, our schedules are optimized to fit your local time zone. Our global cohort model allows students to collaborate with other top-tier mathematical minds worldwide, fostering a rich, competitive, and supportive community.

"What students will be able to do
- Work through all 25 AMC 10 problems within the 75-minute limit
- Apply the scoring structure: 6 points correct, 1.5 for blank, 0 for wrong
- Recognise the standard problem types in counting, number theory, algebra and geometry
- Use elimination and estimation to move quickly through the first 15 questions
- Build the accuracy needed to reach the AIME qualification cutoff
Common questions
Who can sit the AMC 10?
Students in Grade 10 or below who are under 17.5 years old on contest day. There is no minimum age, so younger students often take it for practice.
How is the AMC 10 scored?
25 questions in 75 minutes. A correct answer scores 6 points, a blank scores 1.5, and a wrong answer scores 0. Leaving a question blank is therefore better than a random guess.
What score qualifies for the AIME?
Roughly the top 2.5 percent of AMC 10 takers qualify. The exact cutoff is set each year by the MAA and typically falls between 100 and 120 out of 150.
Can students outside the USA take it?
Yes. The AMC 10 runs at registered international centres, and our students sit it from India, the UAE, Singapore and the UK among others.
Is a calculator allowed?
No. Calculators have been banned on the AMC 10 and AMC 12 since 2008, so mental and written arithmetic speed matters.
