25 multiple-choice questions, 90 minutes. Start with 25 points, +4 correct, -1 incorrect. Top 10% qualify for BMO1.
Years 12-13UK Mathematical Olympiad for Girls (UK MOG)
Invitation-only competition for female students. 5 problems, 2.5 hours. Pathway to EGMO team selection.
Years 11-13BPhO Round 0
25 multiple-choice questions, 1 hour. Selection paper for BPhO Round 1 (limited to ~1500-2000 entries).
Years 12-13BMO Round 1
6 proof-based problems, 3.5 hours. Top ~100 scorers qualify for BMO Round 2. The gateway to IMO team selection.
Years 12-13BPhO Round 1
2-hour paper: Section 1 (max 50 marks from ~84) + Section 2 (2 from 4, 25 marks each). Shortened format for 2025.

3-hour programming paper. Window: 8 Dec 2025 - 23 Jan 2026. School-administered. Qualifies for BIO Final at Cambridge.
Years 10-13UKMT Cayley/Hamilton/MacLaurin Olympiads
2-hour papers, 6 Olympiad-style problems. Cayley (Y9), Hamilton (Y10), MacLaurin (Y11). Follow-on from IMC.
Years 9-11UKMT Junior Maths Challenge (JMC)
25 multiple-choice, 60 minutes. Years 7-8. No penalties. Qualifies for Junior Kangaroo and Junior Olympiad.
Years 7-8TMUA (Test of Mathematics for Univ)
2.5 hours. Required for Oxford Maths/CS, Cambridge, Imperial, LSE. Tests strict Mathematical Reasoning.
Year 13STEP (Sixth Term Exam Paper)
