About this test

JEE Main mock test 17 - full NTA pattern paper is a full 75-question paper you attempt online in 180 minutes. It follows the Joint Entrance Examination Main pattern, so the timing, the question style and the marking match the real exam. Each correct answer scores 4 and each wrong answer loses 1. Guessing carries a real cost, exactly as it does on the day.

You get your score the moment you submit, question by question, with a step-by-step solution to every problem. NTA pattern, three subjects, negative marking.

Before you start

Pattern. 75 questions, 300 marks, 180 minutes. Each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics has 20 multiple-choice questions (Section A) and 5 numerical-answer questions (Section B), for 100 marks per subject.

Marking. +4 for a correct answer, −1 for an incorrect answer, 0 if unattempted. Negative marking applies to Section B as well — numerical questions are not risk-free, and this is where unit and sign errors concentrate.

Section B is compulsory. All 5 numerical questions in each subject must be attempted. The “any 5 of 10” arrangement ended with the COVID-era papers.

Before you start. Phone in another room, single screen, no reference material. Sit the full 180 minutes in one session — a paper taken in pieces measures nothing.

A look at the questions

Q1. A block rests on a rough incline of angle $30^\circ$ with coefficient of static friction $0.50$. Given $\tan 30^\circ = 0.577$, the block will:
A) remain at rest, since $\mu < \tan\theta$
B) slide down, since $\mu < \tan\theta$
C) remain at rest, since $\mu > \tan\theta$
D) slide down, since $\mu > \tan\theta$
Q2. A block slides down a rough incline of angle $30^\circ$ with coefficient of kinetic friction $0.20$. Its acceleration, in m s$^{-2}$, is ____. (Take $g = 10\,$m s$^{-2}$; give your answer to two decimal places.)
73 more questions in the full paper, each with a worked solution.
